Hi, I’m Jen, a qualified English teacher with over 14 years’ experience. I have a passion for teaching children of all abilities and love working with children, who can benefit from my focused attention.
As a Lead Practitioner for English, and Whole School Literacy Coordinator, I have worked with students of all abilities, including those with SEN and those who are new to English. I have experience teaching several exam boards and have examiner experience for 2 boards as well, so I am well versed in what students need to do to get their desired outcome.
I am friendly and approachable, encouraging students to ask questions. I have clear methodical approaches to essay writing which makes hitting the bullet points on GCSE mark schemes much easier, alongside investigatory and fun exploration of texts and writing skills to encourage a love of English alongside the development of skills. I scaffold learning as much as is needed and then work to build the student’s skills and confidence to gradually remove these scaffolds.

Education should be unique and personalised to every individual child. Passions and interests should be explored and curiosity encouraged. Every child should be supported on their journey through education, overcoming all barriers, ensuring learning knows no limits!
